Removing The Snib On A Nightlatch Why ?
The nightlatch as been around for a longtime so much that to people of a certain age we know them as "Yale Locks" they are normally found on wooden doors and the snib function on the inside if used deadlocks the door.
On occasions our "Locksmith in Widnes" Derek is asked to disable the snib function. Its usually when relatives or carers are locked out as a result of the snib being put on on the inside which means even with the key you are unable to unlock the door. Or when a person keeps the snib on which means the door is not locked.
Whatever your reason Lockkeys Locksmiths Widnes can help with this by providing a new nightlatch with the snib disabled. Call us on 07967 778940 for a no obligation quote.
We often get calls from customers in Widnes who have problems locking their Upvc or Composite door and to determine whether the problem is the multipoint lock or a door alignment we ask them to lock the door whilst it is open if the lock works ok then both the customer and ourselves know the problem is the alignment of the door. If the door will still not lock then its a new multipoint lock or centre case that is required. The video kindly done by our Widnes Locksmith Derek explains what to look for.
Electronic Nightlatch
First time Ive seen one of these in the UK. Its a electronic deadlocking nightlatch with no cylinder on the outside its operated with a control similar to a electronic garage controller with a manual overide on the lock itself. It works off batteries and indicates on the remote when the battery needs changing.
